Glimpes from Dream Seeding 2010
20th May 2010
Dream Seeding for Compassionate Communities All Ages Art Show ran in the Michigan Union in Ann Arbor, Michigan in March 2010!
We had over 70 works of art from children, teens & adults from around the state.
Twins Mandala by 2nd grade students from Brighton, Mich., courtesy of teacher Tracey Flanigan.
“Goat on Cochane Street” by artist Dennis Sabatowich, made from scrap metal he finds around Detroit.
Ann Arbor teacher Marissa Kowalczuk had her middle school students make diptychs envisioning collective problems, and their ideas for solutions.
“Growing Teachers” is an ode to school gardens springing up around the state, created by Christopher Bednash & the lovable rascals of Dream Seeding co-sponsor, Debs Co-op.
“Cry Yourself Awake” woodblock print by Sarah Ross.
On the first day of Spring, we held a reception with food, storytelling, music from Laz of the longtime children’s folk duo Gemini & friends, and a lot of dancing!
We hope to show the rest of Dream Seeding for Compassionate Communities in a virtual gallery like we have for 2009′s show, but have encountered technical glitches, so far….
In the meantime, almost the entire show is viewable on our Dream Seeding for a Better World page on Facebook.
Many thanks to everyone who helped make Dream Seeding happen again!!
More to come!
